I went to go see Gone Girl instead of watching Game 1. My dad informed me of the epic comeback when I came home. The Cardinals always manage to pull the rabbit out of the hat in the playoffs.

Very good. I enjoyed it coming in with no knowledge of the novel. Very gripping and tense, had me interested all the way until the very end. If you like Fincher's other movies you'll probably dig this one too.

Jordan Zimmermann pitches a shutout for 8 2/3 innings. Gives up his first walk with 2 outs in the 9th and has thrown 100 pitches, the walk also halted a string of like 18 batters retired. Matt Williams pulls him instantly and Drew Storen promptly blows the save and sends it into the bottom of the 9th.

This babying of pitchers has gotta stop.

Considering how close Washington was to winning, Zimmerman shouldn't have gotten such a quick pull.

The Nats deserve to lose this series, just like last year, for poor team management.
