The Simpsons

Harry will get what he wants from negotiations and come back. They can't do the show without him without moving The Simpson's. There's no way.

The issue is that the contract that FOX wants him to sign prevents outside work and he has tons of projects on the go.

Al Jean says characters like Flanders and Mr. Burns won't die, they're just going to find a replacement and keep going.

The best thing about that nobody can tell the difference clip is it still features Harry Shearer as Kent Brockman.

The Simpsons has always been infuriating in that when they're in a creative slump, they do irreversible shit to a character. They took away Skinner's entire backstory (including awesome Vietnam flashbacks), they took away Barney's alcoholism (the relapse stuff isn't funny), they turned Moe from a grump into a manic depressive, they take away Smithers' evasiveness of his sexuality...

What good is Smithers if they end the thing that's his whole character? I just don't get it.
