The Mets were never hiring Girardi.  Never.  Interviewing him was just to placate the fanbase.  The Wilpons want their "own" candidate, not someone who will push back at the front office's constant meddling.

So they fired Callaway and are now going to be replacing him with another inexperienced guy.  Genius!

Good for MLB, making that happen. Houston would have gladly swept it under the rug and pretended like nothing happened. That said, the others involved, who denied it or called the story a fabrication or what-have-you.. those people should be punished in some way as well. They knew what went down, and they were happy to play along with the idea that it didn't.

Might as well make the  job easier and add a fucking DR (Designated Runner), who runs when the DH hits the ball.

Baseball did just fine for over 100 years without the DH. Its not a necessary position, and I prefer the strategy of having to decide whether to leave a pitcher in or yank him for a batter and put a new one in. The DH was intended to extend careers, not give them.
