Might not be the best time to reduce clubs income even further tbh.

Also probably not the best time to give exposure to betting companies who generate profits through advertising to young, vulnerable and addicted people.

Agreed, but if the choice is 'take betting company' or 'go out of business', clubs are rightly going to choose the former.

Is that the choice though? Lots of clubs are not sponsored by betting companies and don't appear to be going out of business.

According to a House of Lords report, banning it would have a "serious effect" on smaller clubs outside of the Premier League. The EFL reports that betting companies contribute £40 million to the clubs each year and assuming this article from the Mail is correct, that figure is unlikely to be replaced by a similar level of investment from non-betting companies.

At a time when income to clubs is already massively contracted, it could prove to be a killing blow to multiple clubs to take away yet another revenue stream.

Isn't that going to be slightly offset by the salary cap in Leagues 1 and 2 anyway, in theory their costs should fall? I know (or assume anyway...) that most of the gambling sponsorship is in the Championship so not that great an effect, but as long as the clubs get a notice period I think it's a reasonable step.

Yeah, it may be a touch busy, but it's a really nice design.
