When a team needs to be overhauled, tradition is that you build it from the back. United seem to be trying to build a new team from the front.

Is this because they're clueless or do they just think football works differently for them than other clubs? :/

Manuel Pellegrini names a formidable looking XI as Manchester City look to make it three wins out of three. Sergio Aguero makes his first start of the season while Aleksander Kolarov comes in for Gael Clichy at left-back, and Bacary Sagna makes his first start since signing from Arsenal. Former City boss Mark Hughes gives a first Premier League start to Victor Moses in his Stoke City line-up after he signed on loan from Chelsea. Phil Bardsley keeps his place in defence after recovering from a knee injury.
Man City XI: Hart, Sagna, Kolarov, Kompany, Demichelis, Fernando, Nasri, Yaya Toure, Silva, Jovetic, Aguero
Stoke XI: Begovic; Bardsley, Shawcross ©, Wilson, Pieters; Whelan, Nzonzi; Diouf, Walters, Moses; Crouch
Alan Pardew makes four changes to the Newcastle side that won 1-0 at Gillingham in the Capital One Cup. Mike Williamson, Remy Cabella, England new boy Jack Colback and Yoan Gouffran are restored in place of Steven Taylor, Gabriel Obertan, Mehdi Abeid and Ronaldo Aarons. The first XI of Neil Warnock's second stint in charge of Crystal Palace contains just three of the players who earned a 3-0 win at Walsall in midweek. Dwight Gayle is retained after his hat trick, while Adrian Mariappa and Damien Delaney also keep their places. Wilfried Zaha is on the bench after returning to Selhurst Park on loan from Manchester United but Jason Puncheon is included despite being fined £15,000 by the FA for comments on Twitter after taking exception to criticism from Warnock about a penalty miss against Tottenham.
Newcastle XI Krul, Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Haidara, Colback, Sissoko, Cabella, De Jong, Gouffran, Riviere.
Crystal Palace XI Speroni, Mariappa, Dann, Delaney, Kelly, Puncheon, Jedinak, Ward, Bolasie, Chamakh, Gayle
After making changes for the Capital One Cup win over Rotherham, Swansea manager Garry Monk reverts to the side which beat Burnley 1-0 last Saturday. Argentina defender Federico Fernandez and on-loan Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Tom Carroll must wait to make their Premier League debuts off the bench. There are two changes to the West Brom side which drew against Sunderland a week ago, with Jason Davidson replacing Sebastien Pocognoli and Brown Ideye making his first league start, replacing Victor Anichebe.
Swansea XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Amat, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Dyer, Sigurdsson, Routledge, Bony.
West Brom XI: Foster, Wisdom, Dawson, Olsson, Davidson, Gardner, Mulumbu, Berahino, Dorrans, Brunt, Ideye.
There is no Loic Remy in the QPR squad as boss Harry Redknapp opts for a front three of Charlie Austin, Matt Phillips and Junior Hoilett. It looks like Redknapp has abandoned the 3-5-2 formation in favour of a back four of Mauricio Isla, Steven Caulker, Rio Ferdinand and Clint Hill. There is no Armand Traore or Richard Dunne in the side, who drop out after last weekend's 4-0 loss at Tottenham. Sunderland make one change from the side that drew 1-1 with Manchester United as Adam Johnson is brought in for Will Buckley, who drops to the bench.
QPR XI: Green, Caulker, Ferdinand, Hill, Phillips, Barton, Austin, Fer, Isla, Mutch, Hoilett.
Sunderland XI: Mannone, Vergini, Van Aanholt, Brown, O'Shea, Cattermole, Larsson, Rodwell, Fletcher, Wickham, Johnson.
West Ham are unchanged from the team that won 3-1 at Crystal Palace last weekend. Southampton make three changes, with Morgan Schneiderlin, Dusan Tadic and Ryan Bertrand all coming into the side from the team that beat Millwall 2-0 in the Capital One Cup.
West Ham XI: Adrian, O'Brien, Cresswell, Reid, Tomkins, Kouyate, Noble, Vaz Te, Downing, Zarate, Cole.
Southampton XI: Forster, Clyne, Fonte, Yoshida, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, S. Davis, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Long, Pelle.
