Take it with a dump truck full of salt, but apparently FF7 real remake is going to be for reals announced this year. A few sites are reporting it'll be announced later tonight.

I mean, I'll believe it when I see it, because fuck me I doubt it as much as ever (nor do I really want it), but that's about the only reason I can think of for Square-Enix having their own conference this year.
