Can we stop doing the "you won't win nothing with kids" thing with every team that we perceive as being, as Nerf says, "young and inexperienced"? Not only is this Spurs side not inexperienced (seriously outside of Bentaleb, Onomah, Winks and N'Jie they've all played at least 100 first team matches in their careers thus far - and Betaleb and N'Jie are both fairly experienced internationals), but the side that Alan Hansen famously said wouldn't win anything included 6 players under the age of 20 and had before that season played a combined total of 114 first team games, and most of those were for Gary Neville.

It also had the likes of Gary Palister, Steve Bruce, Brian McClair and others. You can't really pretend that United side was all made up of kids. There were enough experienced pros around to help that side manage it's way through games.

Which would be why I wasn't. I was only talking about that particular game...

To be fair although our squad is young we have Lloris, Dembele and Vertonghen as the older spine.

Walker's got around 250 games for Spurs.

Eriksen has 56 caps for Denmark and over 270 games for Ajax and Spurs.

Alderweireld has over 270 games in Netherlands, Spain and England.

Son has nearly 50 Korean caps and 150 games in Germany and England.

Lamela's got more than 160 games in Argentina, England and for Roma.

Our squad is young but somehow Poch has developed a squad that is both young and yet experienced beyond its years.

Dele Alli has more first team professional career appearances than any other 19 year old in the top five leagues. He has made 125 appearances not including internationals.
