I genuinely expected to wake up today to see Wales had shut out Iran and that just throws shitloads of pressure on the US today.  Was not expecting that result at all.

I'd say there's still a fair amount of pressure on because anything other than a win today would mean that Iran would just need a draw in the final match to finish ahead of USA. However, it ought to mean that USA have their fate in their own hands, which they might not have done if Wales had won.

Fully expecting England to beat the USA, but also Wales to beat England and then Iran vs USA becoming incredibly important for the outlook of the 2nd place in the group.

Not that you'd know it watching the BBC as Pearce and Dublin completely ignored it. The standard of commentary at this tournament has been woeful.

England and USA should be a good game. Wondering if USA will exploit some of the defensive issue's that England have had, and what we have witnessed in the last few game's from them. The game the other day worried me. A stronger team will easily carve that defence open with those mistakes.

Gakpo is definitely having the breakout many expected him too. Totally understand why he turned down Leeds this summer to wait for a bigger move. He's just too good for a club like Leeds. He belongs in a Champions League club

Gakpo has been outstanding so far this world cup and all season in fairness. I know he's been linked at United like pretty much every player on the planet at this moment in time but he could be a great signing for any team

Outside of McCoist, the co-commentator choices have been very bad. Hartson, Dublin, Dixon, Murphy. Ugh. Listless and a lack of knowledge.

I echo people with regards to Gakpo. PSV will be hard-pressed to keep him through January, despite surely wanting to given the strong season they're having. Any of the Champions League clubs will be overjoyed to have him.
