The Star Wars Thread

I am amazed at the level of effort and budget that they are putting into the Disney+ shows. I showed my wife the trailer for Manadalorian last night, and she thought it was a new movie because it looked so good.

Now, I wasn't expecting ScyFy levels of production, but I am so happy to see that they're really investing in the service and the series' that they are airing.

Is disney+ going to have the OG trilogy?

The original and prequel trilogies have both been announced as Day 1 additions to the streaming service, along with The Force Awakens.

It appears that Disney+ is taking a slow burn approach and not just blowing its' load all at once as well. There was a list of everything confirmed for Day 1, and the Marvel selection is four or five movies to start. Probably due in part to streaming rights deals that will need to expire before they can add certain things, but also because they don't want people to sign up specifically for one thing, like say the MCU... and then binge watch it all right away and cancel their subscription.

From what I've read, eventually everything will end up on the service, but they wanted to leave some room to be able to add not only new shows/movies each month, but stuff from the back catalog as well.

So, does Disney now control all Star Wars, even the distribution rights for "A New Hope"? Can we get the original editions of the original trilogy on DVD now?

That was really good! Are the episodes weekly?

Yes but not clean and easy

Next episode comes out this Friday, then it goes weekly on Fridays until December 13th.  Then the next episode after that drops Wednesday December 18th and the finale comes out Friday December 27th.

They left a gap at the end for when Rise of the Skywalker comes out.
