The Barclays Premier League Thread 2014/2015

Staffordshire is in the Midlands. Basic geography for the loss for some on here apparently.

EDIT: On this stream they've interviewed Mourinho, and he's blaming the time wasting at the end for his loss.:lol::lol:

Happy with that team.

This is Spurs' first Saturday 3pm kick-off since January!

That's ridiculous.

The Europa League has a lot to do with that, in fairness.

The Europa league isn't every single week though

I've now actually checked and the stat is bollocks anyway.

Saturday 13th September 2014 - Sunderland 2 - 2 Tottenham, 3pm kick-off

Saturday 16th August 2014 - West Ham 0 - 1 Tottenham, 3pm kick-off

Saturday 26th April 2014 - Stoke 0 - 1 Tottenham, 3pm kick-off

Saturday 1st February 2014 - Hull 1 - 1 Tottenham, 3pm kick-off

Not even close!

We are so utterly dire trying to penetrate a back line. Such static movement, no show of desire. I would be shocked if we beat Basel in mid-week. Lord knows Liverpool haven't deserved to qualify for the round of 16.

Well that was very meh from Spurs.

Can't blame Lloris - he was excellent. Fazio and Vertonghen are now building a very solid centre back partnership which is encouraging. Davies is looking good on the left. As for the strikers, it's not like we've got much choice up there so Spurs have to play who they've got.

That means it's issues with right back and the midfield.

Walker's been injured all season but he's returning and we've got Yedlin coming ready for the start of the new year. That's great news down there as Dier doesn't look like a right back. Despite a few decent moments today Lamela didn't look good. Eriksen should be central and not out wide. We've reverted to the two holding midfielers in Mason and Bentaleb and while the commentators were getting all excited as they're young, academy players, they weren't good enough today.

Players started turning their backs in challenges as the second half went on which was terrible really. Lennon came on too late to do anything.

In summary: GK, most of the defence seems right now. Up front there aren't options so go with what we have. Right back should be sorted soon. Midfield needs sorting.
