Washington are laughing their way to the bank.  Successfully put out reports about how much they liked Jones, forcing the Giants' hand.  And now they're going to get a FAR better QB in Haskins.

I think Jeremiah nailed it on NFL Network. At the few million he costs he a) isn't burning a hole in AZ's pockets, and b) would make the most sense going as an insurance option with a team that has an aging QB in return for a late-round pick

So EVEN IF Washington liked Jones ahead of Haskins......any other team that could've picked a QB (Denver, Cincy, Miami) all passed.  So the Giants would've had one of Jones or Haskins there, not to mention Lock.

It's almost impossible to fathom how badly the Giants screwed this up.  And there's not the slightest doubt in my mind that they only fell in love with Jones because he was coached by the Mannings' coach.  This organization is incapable of going outside of what they already know.  That's why Gettleman is their GM in the first place.

And they probably will get him out. Likely for a late-round pick. They frankly lost all trade leverage the minute they wound up with the number 1 pick since everyone knew Kyler was a no-brainer, they've just been holding out hope someone would panic.
