Helps me that I've seen us win everything possible lad. Four champions League finals in my life times, two of them we've won. Prem, Multiple league and fa cups, a UEFA cup.

I've seen things only you can imagine ;) I'll be celebrating these lads tomorrow and the women who won the Championship tomorrow as well.

Audi Cup Winners, you'll never sing that!

I was going to offer you this one as a consolation prize:

But decided that this would be funnier:

Oh fuck yeah we’ve won that twice as well! Suck it Liverpool!

Imagine laughing at people getting conned out of money. Scummy move that like

Yep, I saw that earlier, horrendously bad craic. There are some utter cunts these days who describe themselves as football fans.

Last year we got knocked out of Europe by a team whose manager was in prison. We know what we're about.

If it makes you feel better I'm feeling rather delicate which is probably a bit of karma like ha.

I don't feel bad about the result,  I'm just sad for the way the fans there got treated and instantly blamed for things or people getting conned out of money and the way it's been used as a joke. So I was a bit annoyed last night

Happy with a Madrid win as it means Chelsea get more money from the Hazard deal. Every little (of the now more than £200m :shifty:) will help when it comes to replacing Rudiger and Christensen.

While I'm usually all for Liverpool fans not getting what they want, that only covers what happens on the pitch...

Questions definitely need to be raised about UEFA and local authorities' handling of crowd management, fans in general clearly aren't to blame for the situation they found themselves in in Paris last night.

The Richarlison stuff is also very scummy. While I'm sure the man himself had nothing to do with the con, the fact that someone who likely earns more in a week than those who have lost out will earn in an entire year has twisted the knife is unacceptable. The right thing for him to do would be to personally reimburse anyone affected.

From the moment there were issues with people getting into the ground and kickoff was delayed i felt like the result didn't matter anymore tbh

Wasnt great post game either.

Football wise 4 defeats all season. 2 trophies. Thats not bad.

I think that is rather a bit much. Now, I don't agree with mocking any fans conned out of so much money and i feel for those people, but Richarlison was actually latching on to a fake story mocking what happened claiming a company run by a "Richard Arlison" were the conmen. He hasn't just gone on photoshop and posted to mock them, he's probably been shown the meme and found it funny without thinking too much deeper.

Taking club rivalry "banter" too far, yes. He has nothing to do with the incident though and shouldn't be reimbursing anyone, that is for whoever is behind the alleged coach company.

And yes, obviously I am not unbiased in wading into this.

As for the scenes at the stadium...awful stuff. Could so easily have resulted in injuries or worse. This is supposed to be the biggest game in club football, such things should never happen. My worry is that the potential problems will not be taken seriously by either UEFA, French authorities or stadium organisers, meaning we could see worse next time.

The Liverpool defender Andy Robertson has criticised the handling of fans at the Champions League final by French police and challenged Uefa’s account of problems outside the Stade de France after teargas was used on those trapped outside the ground.

Thousands of supporters missed the kick-off against Real Madrid, which was delayed by 36 minutes because of worrying congestion problems that resulted in large numbers stuck around around the perimeter for several hours.

However, more concerning was the chaotic way authorities chose to deal with the situation. French police inside the fence used teargas on fans outside after Gate Y, one of the two main gates on a narrow walkway which 20,000 supporters were trying to access, was closed for up to an hour in the lead up to kick-off in response to the growing frustration of fans queuing to get in and being delayed by problems scanning tickets and security searches. Several Liverpool supporters with tickets, growing concerned for their safety, gave up on trying to get in to the game and left the scene.

Robertson revealed many of the players’ families and friends were caught up in the chaos and said: “You have to have some sympathy because this was thrown on Paris kind of the last minute with all that has gone on with Russia.” The final was moved from St Petersburg after Russia’s invasion of Ukraine in February.

“But as a Uefa competition it is the biggest game in world football and it should be organised a lot better. Things like that should not be happening and definitely the force used by certain authorities should not be happening either.

“Pretty much all our families were affected. I can only speak for my family and all I know is everyone is safe and that’s my main priority. I hope all the fans are safe.”

Liverpool are understood to be furious at Uefa’s “totally inaccurate” initial blaming of the delayed start on the late arrival of fans and have requested an official investigation.

European football’s governing body later said in a statement the fault lay with “thousands of fans who had purchased fake tickets which did not work at the turnstiles”.

Paris’ Prefecture de Police subsequently issued their own statement claiming people either without tickets or counterfeits were “exerting strong pressure to enter the enclosure” which resulted in the delayed access.

That version of events does not tally with numerous accounts from fans and what Robertson had been told himself.

The left-back said: “My tickets were through the club and someone told one of my mates he had a fake ticket, which I assure you it wasn’t because it was obviously through me. Then obviously the French police decided to throw teargas on fans and families. It’s not been well organised.”

Supporters’ group Spirit of Shankly described the scenes as “totally shambolic and extremely dangerous”.

The problems did not end there for fans as following the 1-0 defeat many were reportedly assaulted and robbed by locals on the 10-minute walk back to train stations.

The former Liverpool defender, and now television pundit, Jim Beglin said people were running “a gauntlet of thuggery”. He tweeted: “Post-match last night was the scariest I’ve ever experienced. Organised gangs set about mugging departing fans.

“We ran a gauntlet of thuggery on our way to the Metro. Not a police officer in sight. Witnessed so many ambush attacks on unsuspecting attendees. Reprehensible @UEFA.”

SOS added: “Many of our committee members witnessed gangs of local youths acting with impunity – the police just watched them & seemed reluctant to intervene”.

The whole argument is frustrating to follow today.

It's clear the organisation was awful. The thread David linked from Rob Draper shows that. But because there were people showing up with no tickets and storming the gates, they're being blamed for it. Like there would've been no issues if those without a ticket weren't heading to the stadium, but that's not the case either.

There's wrongdoing on both sides. The video of fans charging through the gates and running up the steps only tell some of the story. Did they have a ticket and were trying to make sure they made kick-off after all the delays? Who knows. People posting pics of themselves celebrating the fact they'd managed to "bunk my dad in" certainly don't help.
