Sorry, GoN, are you saying that winning two league titles in three years isn't much of an achievement?

With a team that went to back to back champions league finals before him, and in no man's land? Not that much... :/

Oh, also, United's title win in 08-09 shouldn't count because of that run of games we had in January costing us the title. Incidentally, "us" being a Rafa team with only Gerrard, Carragher and Hyypia left from the previous regime. Also arguably the best Liverpool squad of the Premier League era.

The argument is stupid. Accolades are accolades and Rafa is a good manager.

Guys, City's title win last year shouldn't count because United fucked up that one game.

Noone is saying it doesn't count, just that it wasn't the amazing achievement it's been made out to be. He inherited the second best team in Europe (back to back champs league finals) and won a weakened league twice (once due to Madrid throwing it away spectacularly).

Since it seems I'm not being clear enough, this is pretty much what I was saying.

He also finished 5th in between those championship wins. :pervert:

But yeah, being a good cup team is not the same as being a good league team. One could make that point about... Oh forget it, no need to go there. :pervert:

The fifth best team in Spain.

I'm sure that's what you said about Liverpool in 2005.

He inherited a very good Valencia team and won La Liga at probably the weakest it's been for decades. Fair play it's still an achievement but it's not anywhere near as mission impossible as "he won La Liga with a team that wasn't Barcelona or real Madrid" implies.

Oh and chelsea should hire Warnock, itd be spectacular;: David Luiz playing left back, Oscar playing wide left, Lampard wide right, Hazard sold because "we couldn't find a place in the team for him realleh" and Michael Brown inexplicably keeping Mata out of the team.

Well, at least we actually won the thing.

Are Bradford one of the best sides in the country because they reached a cup final, beating a number of Premier League clubs on the way?

Except Bradford haven't done that in consecutive seasons. You're being awfully silly if you really think that valencia side was anything other than one of the best sides in Europe. :/
