A virus has swept through the Aston Villa squad and, while most are fit enough to play, defender Nathan Baker was sent home by boss Paul Lambert and Ciaran Clark has come in to take his place. That is the only change for the Villains from the win over Liverpool last Saturday. Arsenal have defender Calum Chambers fit again so he replaces Hector Bellerin, while midfielder Santi Cazorla comes in for the benched Jack Wilshere following the 2-0 loss at Borussia Dortmund in midweek.
Aston Villa XI: Guzan, Senderos, Hutton, Clark, Cissokho, Delph, Sanchez, Cleverley, Richardson, Weimann, Agbonlahor.
Arsenal XI: Szczesny, Chambers, Mertesacker, Koscielny, Gibbs, Arteta, Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck.
Cheick Tiote makes his first start of the season for Newcastle in one of two changes made my manager Alan Pardew. Defender Paul Demmett also returns to the side, while striker Papiss Cisse is on the bench, having recovered from a knee injury. Hull boss Steve Bruce keeps faith with the same XI that drew with West Ham on Monday, although Sone Aluko comes in for the Hatem Ben Arfa on the bench, with the latter ineligible because he is on loan from Newcastle.
Newcastle starting XI: Krul; Janmaat, Coloccini, Williamson, Dummett; Tiote, Colback; Cabella, Sissoko, Gouffran; Riviere.
Hull starting XI: McGregor, Davies, Huddlestone, Hernandez, Livermore, Diame, Jelavic, Dawson, Robertson, Elmohamady, Quinn.
Swansea boss Garry Monk has used the fewest players of any Premier League manager so far this season with 16, but he is going to increase that tally today. He makes two changes from the team that lost 4-2 at Chelsea - their first league defeat of the campaign. One is enforced with new signing Federico Fernandez in for his debut in defence in place of the injured Jordi Amat. Last season's top-scorer Wilfried Bony is brought into the starting XI after being on the bench last week following a late return from international duty. Bafetimbi Gomis makes way. Southampton make two changes from the team that beat Newcastle 4-0 last weekend. James Ward-Prowse and Maya Yoshida come in for Steven Davis and Toby Alderweireld respectively. Shane Long has overcome a head injury and starts.
Swansea XI: Fabianski, Rangel, Fernandez, Williams, Taylor, Ki, Shelvey, Sigurdsson, Dyer, Routledge, Bony.
Southampton XI: Forster, Clyne, Yoshida, Fonte, Bertrand, Schneiderlin, Cork, Ward-Prowse, Tadic, Long, Pelle.
Burnley boss Sean Dyche drafts in Marvin Sordell for injured striker Danny Ings in a starting line-up otherwise unchanged from the goalless draw at Crystal Palace. Sunderland also make just the one change from the 2-2 draw with Tottenham, Emanuele Giaccherini coming into the midfield ahead of Ricardo Alvarez.
Burnley XI: Heaton; Trippier, Shackell, Duff, Mee, Arfield, Jones, Marney, Boyd, Sordell, Jutkiewicz.
Sunderland XI: Mannone, Vergini, Van Aanholt, Brown, O'Shea, Cattermole, Larsson, Rodwell, Johnson, Giaccherini, Wickham.
