I'm going to watch a playoff game with my team in it :crying:

Seems like it's been ages, what was it, twenty, twenty five years since the Cubs made the playoffs? Maybe forty since the Bears? Chicago is so starved for playoff success, I am so happy to watch things turn around for you guys,

Julius Peppers is still in the NFL, I'm not that old yet!

There's a report making the rounds that John Elway was planning to fire Vance Joseph this offseason in favor of bringing back Mike Shanahan, and that Kirk Cousins was prepared to come in at a slight discount just to play under Shanahan again.  He had to get approval from CEO Joe Ellis, who nixed it.

I'll say this, I lurk the subreddits for all of the AFCW teams, and based on the news their own fans are talking about, the Broncos are one of the more dysfunctional organizations in the NFL, though they mask it well.

Steelers are like that too. More with the players, though.

I heard that someone apparently just lost a ton of money when the 49ers beat the Seahawks.

Edit:-here we go.

Via ESPN:

A bettor at MGM placed two money-line bets totaling $569,000 on the Seattle Seahawks to beat the San Francisco 49ers. According to MGM sportsbook supervisor, the first bet was for $235,000 at -230 odds. The book bumped the up the price to -250 and then took another $334,000 on the Seahawks from the bettor. The 49ers won 26-23 in overtime

I think you'd be mad to bet anything substantial on the NFL. The talent level is too high across the board and the difference between teams too marginal. That whole any given Sunday thing has fair bit of merit for a reason!

I loved Landon Collins the past couple of years, but honestly he's been straight up terrible this year, enough that I no longer want him to get a long-term contract.  Stats wise he racks up a lot of tackles but he gets those tackles after getting shredded in coverage and having to chase someone 20 yards downfield.  I feel good for Aldrick Rosas though, funny enough with him and Myers going it's the only spot where voters seemed to actually look at the stats because nobody really pays attention to kickers and didn't know who to vote for.

But yeah, other than that it's the same popularity contest as it is every year.  Brady and Rodgers have done nothing this year to warrant spots, but they're Brady and Rodgers so of course the fans will vote them in - and they likely won't even go.  The same offensive linemen go year after year after year because they have no listed stats so it's based on reputation.

Taylor Heinicke is expected to start the final two games of the season for the Panthers who are shutting Cam Newton down to nurse his injured shoulder after they got mathematically eliminated.

This is the right choice. Cam looked absolutely terrible trying to throw against the Saints. He has pretty bad mechanics when healthy, but it looked like he'd never been taught how to throw a football.
