Tottenham boss Tim Sherwood has avoided tinkering with his team during their recent run of 16 points from their last 18. Tonight he makes once change to the side which beat Swansea 10 days ago as Gylfi Sigurdsson replaces Nacer Chadli. Manuel Pellegrini said he would have made 11 changes at half-time during the FA Cup tie with Watford as his side trailed 2-0. The Manchester City boss has opted for six alterations tonight with David Silva, Fernandinho, Gael Clichy, Vincent Kompany, Pablo Zabaleta and Joe Hart all back in.

Youssouf Mulumbu and Victor Anichebe come in for Zoltan Gera and Matej Vydra. Nicolas Anelka keeps his place up front.

Sunderland make 11 changes to the one that faced Kidderminster in the FA Cup, and there are two from the line-up that started at Old Trafford in the Capital One Cup semi-final second leg, with Stephen Fletcher replaced by Sebastian Larsson and Jozy Altidore in for Lee Cattermole. Peter Odemwingie starts for Stoke a couple of days after his move from Cardiff, one of two changes from the defeat to Palace last time out in the league. Jon Walters drops to the bench for Odemwingie, while Asmir Begovic replaces Jack Butland in goal.
