The Panthers were given a first down on 3rd and 1 that I’m not sure they converted, but they never reviewed it and simply allowed Cam to spike it.

Not sure how much it mattered since they got no extra yards and Gano’s FG would’ve been good from 70+.....but the officiating in this game was a fucking disgrace.

Still though, that OBJ to Barkley pass was so sick. It's going to hurt but Eli is going to be cut in the summer and I think a GM that's completely external to the Giants is needed. Hiring a 67 year old Giants lifer for a rebuild when the the whole organisation needed a reset was so fucking stupid.

This is shaping up to be like 2011 or 2015 where the entire NFC East has their thumbs up their asses and the champion goes 9-7.  Any other time 1-4 is a bad enough start to end your season, and instead the Giants will somehow be right in it if they can win on Thursday.  Of course, they're 5-16 against the Eagles in the past decade.

They rebuilt the team around him as a public apology for Ben McAdoo's idiocy.  Truly perplexing.

My thought is this.  They're 1-4 right now with three games left before the bye.  If they go into the bye 1-7 or maybe even 2-6 depending on if someone else in the division pulls ahead...they need to give Kyle Lauletta the reigns in the second half.  I'm not going to pretend to know if he can play at the NFL level, but they can't afford to repeat last year's mistake of not even giving the rookie a chance to see what he's got before the offseason, especially if they're going to be in a position to draft Justin Herbert or somebody.

And if they actually plan on handling the transition this way, it won't be a slap in the face to Eli.  They could always do what the Mets did with David Wright and let him play the final home game to give the fans a chance to say goodbye to him before finally moving on.
