The thing is announcers are known to be extremely cautious with what they say in a booth because they're taught for years a mic might wind up being hot. If he was saying stuff like that around mics just imagine the kind of shit he likely says away from mics.

Ron Rivera has been diagnosed with lymph node cancer. He found it during a self check. It's apparently in the early stages and treatable though, so that's a major bonus.

There isn't a lot of room for them to move in elsewhere. CBS/Fox would never go for a 3rd network broadcasting the 1pm/4pm games.

It was an inevitability after his teammates basically started pushing for his release. Punching Chuck Clark, who is one of the team's leaders now, was obviously the last straw. I guess they're going to avoid paying him with the "conduct detrimental to the team" clause.

I stress this as hopefully as unbiased as possible. The Ravens, at least under Harbaugh, have almost never had an issue like this. There's never been a player to my knowledge who the entire team has basically said "get rid of him". I would never, ever sign a player like that.

Also it didn't help he was the weakest player on the defense last year. He's slowed down a lot and I don't know what you do with that in the super fast modern NFL.
