I'm more excited for the All-NBA teams to be position-less, with a minimum of 65 games played then the awards having a 65 game minimum.

The mid-season tournament will be fun. I'm glad it's included in the 82 game schedule, with just an added game for the finals. Interested to see what the winners get, having trouble finding if that info was released.

I feel like I read somewhere it would be a bonus/cash prize? I could be wrong though but that would be the best route either way considering the main goal should be the NBA Championship instead of a in-season cup.

Speaking of awards, is it too late to have Mikal Bridges win the Most Improved? He's been waaay better than expected since he came over for KD. I knew his defense was stellar but he's putting up 30 and 40 point games with ease now.

I feel like 22 games is too small of a sample size for Bridges to win Most Improved, as impressive as he's been. Plus, it better go to Lauri Markkanen.

Just read too that marijuana will no longer be a banned substance, and players can invest in NBA and WNBA teams, plus promote and invest in sports betting and cannabis companies.

If he forced his way out Utah could give up a metric fuck tonne of draft capital for him though.

Probably not if he was a free agent. But, like @Twistsaid, if Dallas decided to trade him, we have the draft capital to make the deal happen. Throw in Colin Sexton and THT, and I can't see very many teams topping that. A base of Luka, Markkanen, and Walker Kessler is a great start to a team, and Coach Hardy has already shown what he can overachieve with a team everybody thought would finish dead last. Now imagine him with an actual superstar.

Nothing will even happen with Luka for at least another 2 seasons. As the player option starts to get closer then you might see him traded to any team with draft capital before he hits FA or something. But right now Dallas will just try to retool around him over the next couple years and see if they can find the missing pieces.

If Luka ever sustains a serious injury that limits his abilities then I think he'd be a perfect fit in DC.

At this rate the T-Wolves trading for Gobert might look just as silly. At least the Mavs have some draft picks in the next five years, and I can't see us getting through the play in.

The pick Dallas was trading away to the Knicks was top 10 protected, and now that they'll miss the playoffs they get to keep that pick.

Depending on how the lottery balls fall, they could still potential lose their pick.

I've just seen that Jason Kidd basically said in his post-match press conference that they were ordered to lose by Mark Cuban and Nico Harrison "as part of the process of building to a championship".

I mean, it was obvious that was the plan given that every regular starter either didn't play or played minimal minutes, but methinks Jason Kidd might be looking for a new job soon for saying it publicly.

That's hilarious. Now I really hope the pick falls out of the top 10 and they lose it.

Jason Kidd isn't afraid to pass the buck. He was a coach killer as a player and he won't hesitate to look for his next job - if he hasn't found it already. 

I'm glad the Nets missed the play-in, but going up against Embiid won't be fun, even if the Sixes have been playing like crap lately.
