Gabriel
I got a lot of use out of my Wii, but the bulk of it was Wii Sports Bowling, New Super Mario Brothers, Mario Party, and then classic games from the eShop. I probably put more hours into N64 games on the Wii than I did actual Wii games. I'd probably rank Nintendo as: SNES, N64, Switch, NES, Wii U, Wii, GameCube. Mario 64 and the Zelda games are great. Switch isn't over, but would be behind the Wii atm, likely will surpass. NES had a handful of great games and lots of mediocre games. WiiU has one game exclusive to it that is amazing and nothing else. GameCube is underrated. Wii is amazing because it is unlike almost every other system in the way you interact with it and has so many great games that range from "difficult traditional games" to "carefree casual games".
Owen
Wii is really good but sometimes got a bit of a bad wrap as being known as the shovelware console. I spent a lot of time playing the Wii, though. It had Super Mario Galaxy, dammit!

If enough of its games are great, what's the problem? The bad ones don't erase them from existence. I'd actually say that the Switch is my favourite Nintendo system. I never had a NES or an N64 until years after their heyday, and I feel as though they've aged worse than any other Nintendo console. I agree that the Gamecube was underrated, as was the Wii in some circles. I enjoyed quite a few Wii U games, although I think the machine itself was a bit of an awkward mish-mash of parts. The SNES was, in my opinion, the best console of the pre-Sony era. The Switch just does so much for me. It has the best of Nintendo's console and handheld franchises, some welcome ports of great third-party games and, pretty much for the first time, significant support from smaller development studios. Seeing Nintendo rebound after the commercial failure of the Wii U has been one of the nicest video game stories of the last decade.

Playstation 2 has a similar reputation but those 2 are some of my favourite consoles. I think it's just the idea of people looking at the console as a whole and viewing their entire library at the same time... but every console has a hell of a lot of crap games, anyway. Bobfoc
I'm still wondering why Eternal Darkness has never been re-released. A Switch port would probably go down quite well.
Sousa
My kids have been obsessed with Eternal Darkness ever since my wife and I described it to them. A remake would have to do some things different (a trick like the volume thing wouldn't really work now) but there's so much potential with new hardware.

A lot of the fun tricks and quirks were dependent on the hardware and OS of the Gamecube, and on the player recognising them as such. Getting the same effect on the Switch would require more than just a straight port.

Also as it turns out they did a failed Kickstarter for a sequel and one of the original lead devs got busted for child pornography, which.............. may have had something to do with it. Bobfoc
I do, and it's one of the reasons why I never pursued romance in the game. I wouldn't want to be around when Garreg Mach has an OFSTED inspection.

In the interest of fairness, you can only marry a student--and reach a point where your relationship becomes something like romance--after an in-game five-year time skip, which technically means you've been apart from the students longer than you've known them, which makes the result... yeah still kinda weird. (Especially with students like Lysithea, who starts the game at 15 years old.)
