2014 NFL Season

On Monday's BS Report, Bill Simmons repeatedly said that Roger Goodell is a liar for saying he didn't see the tape, he'd fail a lie detector test, and his whole press conference was "fucking bullshit". He then challenged ESPN to discipline him for speaking his mind when the entire situation was bullshit to begin with and he's saying what everybody is thinking.

So ESPN has suspended him for 3 weeks.

The Cardinals were the only team to beat Seattle at home last year, so I believe they can do it again. Shut down D in the 2nd half, winning with your backup quarterback. You have Ellington who's so shifty and can shake one out for 30 yards on any given touch. The rookie Jaron Brown isn't even looking like a rookie but someone who has been in the league for a while. Improved offensive line. No interceptions thrown yet. Floyd is becoming their #1 receiver. Sure Fitz is still great but at least we don't have to rely on just him. There is a lot to like about this Cardinals team. I'm from Phoenix so I'm biased, I'm in Arizona sports fan through thick and thin but this team has me really excited to see what they can do and how far they can stretch this ceiling.

To answer the question, I think they can finish above the 49'ers and rams. Maybe even the Seahawks. This team is so well coached and very disciplined. I believe that they believe they can beat anyone on any given Sunday and that faith combined with the talent they have and the coaching staff they have, anything is possible.

Lol, no I'm a different Jon Carlson, but that was funny haha.

So far defensively through 3 games for Arizona and Seattle...

Arizona-7th in YPG @ 316, Seattle- 8th in YPG @ 321. Arizona- 19th in passing YPG @ 244. Seattle- 20th in passing YPG @ 249

Arizona- 4th in rushing YPG @ 71. Seattle- 5th in rushing YPG @ 72. Arizona- Tied for 2nd in PPG @ 15. Seattle- 15th in PPG @ 22

Pretty even so far. I know it's a small sample size but Arizona does have the edge in PPG so far.

It's no so much sample size as it is sample bias :P Arizona got to play against an anemic 49ers offense, and the lolgiants. Hawks have played against Green Bay and Denver. Even in their mutual opponent, Arizona got them at home and Seattle got to play them on the road.

Also they're trailing in sacks per game and dammit I have Arizona D in one of my fantasy leagues so they have to up their game.

lol, I'm not so good at arguing anything without being biased! :P is that bad? You make some good points, however, green bay also has an anemic offense as well. They are not doing too well right now. and that giants team no matter how lolbad they are, was across the country playing in the morning.

Seattle just went down the coast to play the chargers, lol and the chargers took a 1 hour flight to phx so that's hardly on the road.

But i understand where you are coming from. the real test will be in week 5 when the cardinals go to denver and play the broncos. palmer will be back, ellington will be rested. I hope that they can pull it out.

For me, living in Phoenix, with the Super Bowl being here this year, I'm going to talk my Cardinals up any way I can lol. How AWESOME would it be for them to be the first team to play in their own Super Bowl?

Fuckin' great man!

Sky Sports have agreed a five-year deal to show Monday Night Football from 2015.

Any news on the Sunday coverage? I believe Sky and C4s deals expire at the end of this season?

Sky Sports has won the rights to the Monday Night Football as part of a new five-year agreement for even more live American Football from the NFL.
From 2015, Sky Sports viewers will be able to enjoy over 80 live fixtures a season, including up to five games each week of the regular season, the play-offs and Super Bowl.
Sky Sports’ coverage will also include all matches from the NFL’s International Series as teams travel to the UK for regular-season match-ups, which has seen sell-out games at Wembley since 2007.
The new deal – the 23rd live rights agreement announced by Sky Sports this year - offers viewers:
Monday Night Football: More regular season matches than before including Thursday and Saturday nights, Sunday double-headers and Monday Night Football.
International Series: Live coverage of every match as American football continues to bring regular-season games overseas including match-ups at Wembley.
Super Bowl: Every play-off fixture live as the NFL season reaches the dramatic knockout stages, including the hugely anticipated Super Bowl and Pro Bowl.
NFL RedZone: All the drama and scores from around the NFL each Sunday of the regular season from RedZone, available via the red button.
Viewers can also enjoy NFL shows throughout the season, including NFL Total Access, keeping fans informed as the stories develop in between the live games.
Sky Sports Managing Director Barney Francis said: “We’re delighted to be awarded the rights to Monday Night Football as part of this fantastic new deal for even more live American football.
"The agreement means Sky Sports viewers can enjoy all the drama, excitement and unpredictability from the NFL until at least 2019. Our partnership with the NFL spans two decades and we look forward to helping the sport continue its huge growth in popularity in the UK and Ireland for years to come."
Managing Director of NFL UK Alistair Kirkwood said: “Sky Sports has been a fantastic partner for 20 years and we are delighted to have agreed a deal that will extend that partnership to a quarter of a century.
"Sky’s coverage of the NFL and their support for the sport in this country has been an important element of our growth and we look forward to seeing their coverage expand and develop over the next five years. It is fantastic for our fans to have long-term certainty about where they can watch so many NFL games and I am sure they will welcome this exciting news.”
Sky Sports’ live NFL coverage is presented by Kevin Cadle, joined in the studio by Neil Reynolds as well as other special guests throughout the season. This season will see triple header days with three live games shown on October 26 to coincide with the second Wembley match, and Thanksgiving in November.
Sky Sports News HQ will also provide up-to-date NFL news, views and previews from its brand new studio, while skysports.com/NFL has the big news, Fantasy Football advice, previews and big game reports, along with six episodes a week of NFL Total Access available to watch online.
