Depends on how you define "World Class", really, but four is silly low.

He also had at least two key World Cup winners in his team with Barthez and Blanc, but sure Fergie, only four world class players. Such a twat >_>

tbf, Blanc was about 35 when he went to Man Utd, doubt you can call him world class then. And Barthez was too accident rone for that tag imo.

For Ferguson not to include Keane on that list really shows his pettiness. Stam and Van Nistelrooy probably miss out for the same reasons.

Maybe he considers not publicly questioning the manager's authority as a trait of a world class player?

England captains Wayne Rooney and David Beckham, Roy Keane, Carlos Tevez, Rio Ferdinand and Peter Schmeichel were all "great players" according to Ferguson.

"But these players elevated themselves above all that."

I mean, it doesn't seem that silly in context.

That'd be a bit odd. Being a world class professional and player are separate. Majority of the top players carry egos with them too. He'd have to rule Messi and Ronaldo out too with the amount of times they've thrown hissys at managers when things weren't going their way.

They really aren't.

RE: Fergie - he has also said:

  • David Moyes was wrong to sack Mike Phelan and Pep Guardiola was the original first choice to succeed him when he retired. Mourinho, Ancelotti, Klopp and van Gaal were also preferred but all already in posts.
  • He demanded that his salary was doubled when Wayne Rooney got his bumper pay rise in 2010.
  • Utd lost
Paul Pogba because his agent, Mino Raiola, is essentially a piece of shit.
  • He toyed with the idea of signing Mario Balotelli in 2010 before deciding it was too risky.
  • He probably would have made Ryan Giggs his assistant had he retired from playing in his mid-thirties.

Fergie also commented on Nigel Pearson last season, the England job, regrets, his infamous temper, and the Cuban missile crisis.
