I'm glad I'm not going mad. It's one of those where you can't blame the linesman for getting it wrong (benefit of the doubt towards the attacking side) but it is definitely offside. What happened to "play to the whistle"?

Oh yeah, horrible defending, but that doesn't excuse "Xhaka was the man playing him on", "No, wait, it's Koscielny playing him on". No, he's offside Alan, and the four replays you just watched make it pretty clear.

The former Stoke City defender Dionatan Teixeira has died aged 25, the Premier League club have announced.

The Brazilian-born player, who played twice for Stoke’s first team after moving to the club in 2014, was registered with the Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol at the time of his death.

After joining them in February he made 10 appearances as Sheriff won the Moldovan National Division title.

Before moving to Stoke Teixeira played for Kosice, Slovan Bratislava, Banik Ruzina and Dukla Banska Bystrica, all in Slovakia. He made eight appearances for Fleetwood Town during a loan spell from Stoke in 2015.

A statement on Stoke’s website read: “Stoke City extends sincere condolences to the family of former defender Dionatan Teixeira following his untimely passing at the age of 25.”

The club’s chief executive, Tony Scholes, added: “Dionatan was a hugely popular member of our squad and it’s difficult to comprehend that he has passed away at such a young age.

“Our thoughts and prayers go out to his young family and friends at such a difficult time.”

A statement on the Sheriff website said Teixeira had travelled to his native Brazil in the summer and had been due to return to the club.

No details were given about how he died.

The Sheriff statement read: “The whole team of FC Sheriff, from simple workers to the management of the club, is shocked by the tragic news. The pain of loss is great.

“We express our sincere condolences to the relatives and friends of Dionotan. He will remain forever in our hearts.”

They need to make a big appointment to try and motivate and get the best out of that squad but it's down to the players themselves as well. They looked like they gave in on Saturday.

Although it was a brilliant counter for the first goal, the fact it was 3 against 1 and their players failed to track back was a damning indicator. The fact that Salah was left alone for the 4th and the fact they kept putting in lazy tackles or not trying to get back in position just sums them up really.

Seen different things about whether he resigned or was let go, but yeah. He offered his resignation when Jose came back, but it was rejected. I doubt it's a sudden thing.

Will be interesting to see who Roman gets in (or if no one comes in and Marina takes another step towards running the club single-handedly :shifty:).

Edit: Official. Seems it was indeed a resignation.
