The Barclays Premier League thread 2015/2016

Liverpool have requested to play the first game of the new season away from home so that work on Anfield can continue.

IIRC, the fixtures come out a week today. Must be about time for the "leaked" fixtures to come out and be complete bollocks.

It's just delightful to see Chelsea keeping hold of most of our players, unlike when we last won the league and immediately released Joe Cole, Michael Ballack, Juliano Belletti and Deco (and sold Ricardo Carvalho). Bringing in only two players to replace that lot (and one of those was Yossi Benayoun)...Christ.

However when Cech's departure is eventually confirmed it will be super-sad times. :(

You could make a serviceable lower-midtable Premier League team with those released players. Milk would probably turn quicker than them though.

Challenge accepted.

Friedel, Johnson, Distin, Vlaar, Figueroa, Wright-Philips, Gerrard, Lampard, Jonas, Drogba, Bent.

Time for Sam Johnstone to step up as token home grown keeper who never plays for United.

Nope, Preston's loan deal was signed with the caveat that they would sign him permanently in the summer. And they've just lost their other goalkeeper to us, so I'd say it's a lock he's leaving United.

So Khumalo has finally been released. Not at all surprised. Sad about Jordan Archer and Cristian Ceballos though.

Shame he never even got to play in the league for Spurs, he's a solid player. I would love to see him back at the Rovers.
