I think the red card was deserved. It was a horrible tackle.

I think the red is probably correct these days (though I don't think it was malicious), but he's still massively feigned an injury. That shouldn't hurt with shin pads on, and he rose like Lazarus the second he went off the pitch. Interesting MOTD replayed the tackle from Thauvin of all people as an example of rough tough Newcastle being mean, when he's actually barely touched him and he's jumped four feet into the air to guarantee the yellow.
