Wait, hang on a second. So downloaded titles aren't compatible? I was under the assumption backward compatibility meant that you could just sign in with your 360 account and get the games you already had.

It's a select group of titles, being added to over time based on the success of emulation and/or the publisher's wishes and you can either have the disc OR the digital version.

In regards to Shenmue, copied from a friend.

I've been following this for a really long time now and Yu Suzuki (the creator) has kicked around the idea of a kickstarter for the last few years, but no one thought he was actually gonna do it. The problem is that Sega own the rights to the name and all the characters since the originals were made while Yu was head of AM2, and there have been fierce legal battles over getting his own IP back to make the game. For a long time Sega refused to let a third party publisher fund the game and potentially make money while refusing to find it themselves, and this is the result of them finally coming to an agreement to let Yu fund it himself. It actually has nothing to do with Sony apart from the fact they'll get a nice exclusive.
