Fuck. That does not look promising this far after the incident.

Given what I've read I hope he's able to walk properly after, nevermind playing. I'm glad his contract is well covered for injury guarantees at least.

I heard there's a law suit, too. It's stupid, like, the call was blown, but they aren't going back to change it, so you're wasting time and money. It's just sports.

Rashan Gary is part of my 'perfect first round' for the Raiders. Gary at 4, Christian Wilkins with the Chicago pick, Kyler Murray with the Dallas pick.

Really good in-depth look at the dynsfunction of the Browns in the Hue Jackson era

The best story has to be this:

"Marketing executives wanted employees to see how fans were engaging with the Browns on social media, so they projected the Browns feed onto a giant wall at the facility. It was like broadcasting talk radio over the entire building, and one day in particular, it was worse than that. One of the marketing staffers entered a search for #dp -- for Dawg Pound. The problem was, that hashtag carried a few different meanings, one of which triggered an array of porn to be broadcast onto a wall for the entire office to see for more than 20 minutes, until a tech employee killed the feed."

Can we stop acting like that no call was uniquely egregious? I can come up with half a dozen plays that had just as much of an impact on games, just as controversial, from the Immaculate Reception to Dez's sideline 'catch' (three steps is a catch, though). It wasn't even the most obvious fuck up of the last decade (the Fail Mary), though it was obviously more important due to being in the NFC Championship game.

The Saints lost that game because they had a chance to put the Rams down early and couldn't do it. 17 or 21 instead of 13 in the first half, off those early turnovers, and Ingram and Kamara carry them to Atlanta. That's how they lost the game, not because of a bad call.

They also got the ball first in overtime, where 7/8 teams in that situation, in the playoffs, have won, at home, with Drew Brees at QB. The Saints lost that game, not the referees.

I get why fans won't let it go, but they really should. In fact, the Saints fan I mentioned watching the game with is actually for the Rams in the Super Bowl.

That said, there does need to be something in place to prevent that from happening again. And as I've said already, if they make it a challengeable situation or automatic review, it should be a booth review. Not the refs down on the field who completely blow it in the first place.

Yeah the biggest thing against the Saints is they had multiple chances to put the game away early and didn't. They let the game be decided by human error, it happens.

But we shouldn't let that overshadow the fact that, in the last 2 minutes (or heck maybe 5) of a game the refs should have a lifeline for calls like this. Someone radios down to the field and tells them to review the play and see if a penalty should be called.

I'm not gonna tell Saints fans to get over it because being honest with myself I wouldn't be over it yet either.  Seeing all the Super Bowl hype and knowing my team should've been there would've been tough to deal with and I doubt I'd have gotten over it until the Super Bowl was over.  The offseason heals all wounds.

I'm actually against this. I think it removes the human element from the game (yeah, yeah), it'd be like having a perfect strike zone in baseball, it just, sports should be a little rough around the edges. If you're losing a game on a bad call, you probably had chances to win the game you didn't take advantage of.
