I'm expecting the Pats to sign a vet and draft someone in the 2nd or 3rd round.

Dalton would be the perfect meh QB to replace Brady for a year in order to bring in who you really want so he has no pressure coming in after Brady. Especially if it's a young QB out the draft.

I wonder if Belichick would give up a 1st rounder to sign Taysom Hill. I know he's not a normal Belichick guy but I wouldn't doubt that he could build an offensive scheme around him.

I doubt it. Belichick collects draft picks, not trade them.

He's done it twice in the last 7 years. Not totally unheard of if he thinks it will help the team.

Belichick would do it but I also don't think he believes in paying QBs what all the other teams pay QBs. He was lucky to have a guy like Brady who (probably because there were side deals) never got paid what he was worth
