That is some top, top swearing.

Mane did some tricep dips yesterday at Melwood, got a nice pump on, and today it gets him offside.

Very enjoyable for the neutral, DLC is on fire at the moment.

Some pretty shocking officiating again, that Pickford tackle was awful.

Everton looking decent otherwise - Liverpool should've won this, but they've definitely got something about them.

Richarlison got sent off after the whistle went for the foul on Mane so he should have still been on the pitch. Awful reffing all round <_<

Well, no one can ever make LiVARpool jokes again, at least.

I suppose these things equalise out.

Again though, not really VAR’s fault - either of them. It is all about the rules. First one can’t be a red card due to the nature of the incident after an offside. Second one is offside under the rules. Should those be looked at? Probably. But VAR can only follow the guidelines that the rule makers have come up with. For better or worse.

On the plus side, Liverpool are five goals better off compared to their last game 👀

Footballers should just chop their arms off from the elbow down. Only way to avoid shite VAR decisions

If Pickford did this it wouldn't make him any worse.

That was a supremely annoying watch, I have to say.

Mane wouldn't have been given as offside if he had Pickford's arms

Doesn't count if it goes in your favour

Quote

In situations where:

  • a player in an offside position is moving towards the ball with the intention of playing the ball and is fouled before playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the foul is penalised as it has occurred before the offside offence
  • an offence is committed against a player in an offside position who is already playing or attempting to play the ball, or challenging an opponent for the ball, the offside offence is penalised as it has occurred before the foul challenge

The rules in question.

That's a dumb rule. Players should just go for leg breakers when someone's playing for balls in offside positions.

Like if that was a normal type of tackle fair enough but doing scissor tackles which are gonna likely injure someone should be punished whether it is offside or not

Yep. The rule is really dumb. Now seeing people on twitter, apparently going off the ref on BT, saying it was violent conduct, but it can't be that either:

Spoiler

VIOLENT CONDUCT

Violent conduct is when a player uses or attempts to use excessive force or brutality against an opponent when not challenging for the ball, or against a team-mate, team official, match official, spectator or any other person, regardless of whether contact is made.

In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible.
