Reportedly, the Bills were made aware of the upcoming accusations against Araiza last month.  So they've not only kept him since then, but they cut the other punter in camp last week meaning he's won the job and, presumably, they're content to keep him around and let the legal system play out.

You shouldn't keep any player around with shit like this...but why on earth would a legitimate Super Bowl contender, hell, the betting Super Bowl favorite, want to take on this level of distraction for a player who some games will punt like 2 or 3 times at the most?

It's an absolutely embarrassing hill to die on. Pretty clear some teams dug a little deeper than the Bills (it was very strange the Ravens had zero interest in him when finding a new punter was a must), but that's something you can let pass. However knowing this for weeks and deciding he was still your guy flies in the face of what the Bills FO has preached for years.

Also based on the league's personal conduct policy there's no way to discipline him since it all occurred prior to his being an NFL player. So any discipline would come from the Bills themselves.

While Araiza did travel with the team, they had backup QB Matt Barkley handle punts instead.  Doesn’t bode well for his future on the team.

Until Jimmy G is released and signs with Seattle, at least. 

Geno played pretty well last year though too.

Yeah Geno did fine for Seattle last year. He's certainly an improvement over Lock.

Oh god I was wondering if there were some legal issues since this incident happened prior to being an NFL player. Wonder if it has to do with whether or not they pay him and how much he gets paid?

The Ravens continue their absurd preseason dominance with their 23rd straight. Though they were not immune to injuries in the preseason again this year as their mascot, Poe, was carted off with an injury.

With the Bills correctly cutting Araiza, they've had a number of punters in camp but now might have other options as camp cuts commence, including 3-time Pro Bowler Brett Kern being cut by the Titans today in favor of an undrafted rookie.

Gotta suck being a specialist in the NFL.  Unless you're in a particularly loyal organization (looking at you, Ravens)...no matter how good you are, you're probably always gonna lose your job to someone cheaper.
