Football Manager 2014

All these things that Hammy describes in his FM game (mainly defensive fluffs or ridiculously flukey goals) are all things that happen AGAINST me when I play in FM Classic. <_<

Honestly, I sometimes wonder if the FM Classic match engine is running on different rules to the normal FM engine, because for whatever reason the players always seem to be a lot more loopy and/or batshit insane in them.

Gylfi also just scored a couple of odd goals - one was his corner that curled and beat the keeper at the near post after the defender moved off the post early.

Second was when the keeper came off his line and controlled the ball horribly and it bounced to him to score.

Anyway, four games left of the season and we're top! Huzzah!

1. Spurs - 77 (34 played)

2. Man City - 76 (35)

3. Man Utd - 73 (34)

4. Aston Villa - 59 (35)

-------------------------------------

5. Southampton - 58 (34) - playing me next

6. Arsenal - 57 (35)

7. Chelsea - 56 (35)

8. Everton - 55 (35)

9. Liverpool - 53 (34)

10. Swansea - 45 (35)

So it's top three for the title (the pundits would be loving that as they are this season) and then six points and a game in hand separating 4th-9th (which they'd also love). But seriously ASTON VILLA!

It looks like West Brom, Stoke and Sunderland are going down. They're cut adrift a bit with Sunderland (who won the League Cup) 5 points off West Ham in 17th.

I decided in my silly FM 12 Bohemians game to look up who the managers are in the Premier League in 2020. (It is worth noting that Sunderland and Newcastle are currently leading the league with Sunderland seven points clear as of 18 December 2020).

Arsenal - AVB

Aston Villa - Dan Petrescu

Bermingham - Henning Berg

Blackburn - Aaron Mokoena

Chelsea - Pep Guardiola

Everton - Lee Clark

Fulham - Ivica Vastic (!?!)

Liverpool - Lars Bohinen (just replaced David Moyes and brought in Steven Gerrard as is his assistant)

Man City - Roberto Mancini (in a second spell)

Man U - Michael Laundrup

Middlesborogh - Steve McClaren

Newcastle - Alan Shearer (including his real life 2009 caretaker role he is now in his 3rd spell as manager as far as this game is concerned after replacing Roberto Donadoni)

Nottingham Forrest - Paul Jewell

QPR - Nigel Adkins

Stoke - Julian DeGuzman

Sunderland - Paul Lambert

Swansea - Dale Cockril (?)

Spurs - Kenny Jackett

West Ham - Rory Fallon (?)

Wolves - Keith Curle

I don't know what's worse, a Paul Lambert led Sunderland topping the league or my FM13 game where he became Barcelona manager.

Well, I just won the league! Hooray!

Eriksen was player of the year! Hooray!

Soldado was league top scorer! Hooray!

I was manager of the year! Hooray!

I just sold Livermore to Everton and Rose to Man Utd! Hooray!

The majority of my on-loan players have just returned! Oh....my......

My squad is now HUGE. I have to decide what I'm going to do with everyone.

Central to the first team

Hugo Lloris

Jan Vertonghen

Vlad Chiriches

Kyle Walker

Benoit Assou-Ekotto

Sandro

Paulinho

Erik Lamela

Aaron Lennon

Christian Eriksen

Lewis Holtby

Roberto Soldado

Fringes of the first team/Rotation

Gomes

Brad Friedel

Jack Robinson

Etienne Capoue

Gylfi Sigurdsson

Alexander Kacaniklic

Mousa Dembele

Harry Kane

Cody McDonald (Purely a fanboy signing from Gillingham - give him a run out in a few lesser games and give him his time in the sun)

Not really using

Nacer Chadli

Michael Dawson

Kyle Naughton

Emmanuel Adebayor

Getting too old?

Joleon Lescott (great signing for the season though. Cover for BAE while he was out on loan)

Youngsters I'm bringing through

Ryan Fredericks (D R)

Milos Veljkovic (D/M C)

Laste Dombaxe (M/AM R)

Thomas Carroll (M/AM C)

Souleymane Coulibaly (ST C)

Youngsters I'm holding on to / future possibilities

Matt Cunnington

Zodel Brown

Dominic Ball

Jordan Archer

Alex Pritchard

Kenneth McEvoy

Cristian Ceballos

Youngsters I'm not fussed about

Luke McGee

Grant Hall

Still on loan for a bit

Iago Falque (I WANT HIM BACK)

Leaving soon as I haven't renewed their contract

Younes Kaboul (I should have renewed before I dropped him. Whoops)

Bongani Khumalo

Ryan Mason

Jonathan Obika

Shaquile Coulthirst

Actually. that list is useful. it's clearer who I should sell/loan out etc.
