Carroll is right up there though. It's typical of how much we overrate English players. Guy literally had half a good season in the PL and silly teams like Liverpool and West Ham agree to pay him astronomical wages.

I think £52m in transfer and loan fees is great value for money for 29 Premier League goals.

It's even better value when you consider 14 of them were for Newcastle.
