It's really not. He could rebound with a change of scenery and not be completely terrible but he's not close to the player he used to be. 

Also, it really seems like Kaepernick is going to be benched. Tomsula didn't even try to defend him when asked earlier and said they're "evaluating everyone".

They were just talking about Gabbert's hair. 

And yeah, it's been time for awhile. I've been supportive of Kaepernick in the past but he's regressed a lot and the team's not going anywhere so might as well cut their losses now.
