Yeah. He couldn't do better than 9-7 with ridiculously talented San Diego teams. He's always been a good coordinator though. I didn't really think he deserved to resign here though.

Sam Bradford is now on his twenty-third offensive coordinator or something.

Pretty much. He's 114-122-1 as a head coach, and I'm surprised he managed to reach triple digits in wins. His run with the Chargers was the high point of his career as a head coach.

(I wish he'd been given a lifetime contract when he was the Redskins' head coach.)

I know it won't happen but the NFL needs to kill Thursday Night Football.  Keep the Week 1 Thursday Kickoff game with the defending Super Bowl champs because that's a cool tradition, and of course keep the Thanksgiving games.  But that's it.  These other Thursday games just wind up being noncompetitive blowouts.

Could that be more indicative of the games chosen, than the night itself?

That every team needs a Thursday game doesn't help - but playing on three days rest is no easy task.  Even good teams have been known to look like crap on a short week like that.

But Roger Goodell doesn't think oversaturation is possible, so get read for Wednesday Night Football in 2019.

TNF has killed the NFL, there's no layoff that makes me excited for Sunday. No more than 2 days between games, and no guarantee to see the best teams in primetime until much later in the season either. The hard salary cap gives you a slew of mediocre teams as well and with the exception of a few rare years only 1 or 2 truly great teams every year, if that. Not only are we getting too much football on TV, there's no way we can actually get enough good football. As much as the league wants to be built around star power it has already been a team game, when the best offensive players are only out there for half the game you can't really entice me to tune in to see them. I can just watch the highlights if they managed to do anything exciting.

I said years ago when the NFL started putting games on Thursday: Thursday nights are for MAC and Conference USA college football games. Fuck the NFL.

That's another thing. I loved Thursday for college games from mid-major conferences. But there isn't a "mid-major" classification in the NFL, you're either good or bad.

Granted, college is doing the same thing but putting more games on Friday nights. That's not a night for football, it's a night for watching a movie!
