Much like last season, the best part of the Bengals suffering a crushing playoff elimination is NFL Twitter collectively uniting to dunk on Eli Apple.  Guy runs his mouth endlessly when they win, never says a peep when they lose.  And his mom who runs her mouth just as much deactivated her Twitter literally the second the game ended last night.

Preliminary Super Bowl MVP odds:

Jalen Hurts +110
Patrick Mahomes +130
Travis Kelce:  +1200
AJ Brown:  +1300
Devonta Smith:  +2400
Miles Sanders:  +3100

Everyone else is +5000 or higher, including Haason Reddick and Chris Jones who would be the main guys if a defensive player were to win it.

Obviously historically it just goes to the QB of the winning team but those are some pretty stark odds considering a pass catcher has won it 2 of the last 4 years.  Kupp settled in at +750 by kickoff last year.

For Kelce to be that high in the odds, it means the books assume the voters are going to give it to a hobbled Mahomes for the storyline even if Kelce carries him.

The worst part about the end of the game last night was that it wasn't Eli Apple making the costly penalty.

There was one year Brady got the MVP award and it 100% should of been James White instead

Joe Flacco over Jacoby Jones was another year Super Bowl MVP went to the wrong guy.

I love Eli and understand why a game winning drive is always gonna win you a Super Bowl MVP but Justin Tuck had a legitimate claim to win it in SB 42.  Holding the most prolific offense in league history to 14 points was something else.

I've seen people comment that the selection will look good on Huntley's resume. No, it won't. It won't mean squat when anyone looking into him sees his stats for this season. Jacoby Brissett should have been selected over him.

Good for Ryans getting a 6-year deal.  Although teams habitually fire coaches with time left on their deal, stuff like Kingsbury getting canned right after a that big of an extension are very rare.

This is a sign that the Texans really are committing to him for the long haul after not giving their last two coaches a real chance.  And if they do fire him quickly he’s secured the bag.
