Well, the 1:00 games were the craziest set of early games that I ever remember watching.

Eagles have to be a top 5 team in the league now, right?

No. Denver, KC, New England, New Orleans, Carolina, Seattle, San Francisco. In no particular order.

They won today in a freaky snowstorm and actually had the momentum shifted their way when they failed to get a two-point conversion, but Detroit was called on a penalty that didn't actually happen. I don't think Detroit is all that impressive, but winning in conditions like this doesn't prove a whole lot.

They also fought back from down 14 in those shitty conditions. The penalty wasn't a great call, but Detroit let the Eagles run for over 200 yards in the fourth quarter.

Bigger picture, they haven't allowed more than 20 points since a bad loss to the Broncos in week 4 (longest active streak of 20 points or less), and have a top 3 offense in the league. There's an argument that they're a top 5 team.

I forgot about the Patriots, but I think when it comes to Carolina or SF, it could go either way. New Orleans is better, unless they're playing in weather. Not saying it's indisputable, but you could argue the Eagles are a top 5 team in the league and not sound like a complete crazy person.

7-1 when Foles plays the majority of the snaps.

I get that you've seen the Eagles a bit more than the rest of us so you have a bit more perspective than "lol, Eagles", but conversely I don't think you've seen enough of this Carolina team. They are seriously impressive. They might give the Saints a bit of a scare at home.

You could argue the Eagles are a top-five team if you're an Eagles fan. Not if you're looking in from the outside. :P

I disagree. 3rd ranked offense in the NFL, 5 straight wins, and a defense that isn't letting teams score. I'm an Eagles fan, definitely, so I'm a bit biased, but this team has been among the best in the NFL over the past month and a half. When all of the power rankings come out this week, most will probably rank them in the top 8, I would guess, depending on what happens tonight/tomorrow.

Either way, I'm having fun this season, so if I'm being a little bit delusional, don't mind me.

I'm one of those that hates to point to a schedule, because it is the NFL after all, but in your five game winning streak you guys beat a pretty pathetic (and Pryor-less) Raiders, beat a Rodgers-less Packers, a very unorganized Redskins team, you did give up more than 20 points (a couple times since the Denver loss actually) to a Cardinals (that at least has a winning record) team that nearly came back to win, and this dysfunctional Lions game. I really can't put too much stock in today's game. The field was such a mess that shit just happens. I don't think the Lions have anywhere near the kind of kick returns, or that McCoy has the day he had on the ground, if they weren't playing in eight inches of that mess.

Are they a good team? I think they are. Will they make the playoffs? Thanks to an awful division, yes I think they've pretty much wrapped that up barring a total collapse. Are they a Top Five team yet? No. That is indeed your fandom talking. :P

It might be my fandom talking, but I really do believe in this Eagles team to surprise people, and depending on the first round draw (and the conditions, if they end up against the Saints), I can see the Eagles winning a playoff game this year.

In the end, they can only play to their schedule, but I think they've proven that they're legit. Unquestionably a top-10 team.

And, I was mistaken - we gave up 21 to Giants. Other than that, no opponent since Denver's scored more than 20 points. With the #3 offense, that's usually going to be a winning recipe.

Plubby, you're probably right, I haven't seen enough of Carolina. That team, especially on D, is red hot right now.

Arizona scored 21 last week too.

And yeah, I named eight teams that I think are better than the Eagles. Green Bay is too with Rodgers, but they don't have him, so they aren't. So I won't argue them being a top-10 team. I just think you're jumping the gun on the top-5 thing. But you're an Eagle fan who thinks they are, and I'm an Eagle-hater who thinks they aren't, so there is definitely a bias on both ends.

Anyone know which hotel the Cowboys are staying in tonight? Because unless they all die in an "accidental" hotel fire tonight I have no chance to win against Maxx now.

Not saying I am willing to murder the Cowboys just to win the EWB title I'm just saying I have a van full of gasoline soaked rags and I need to know where to leave them :shifty:

On the radio the other day they read this outrageous stat that was pretty much: in New Orleans, at night, Drew Brees becomes an even better version of himself and the Saints beat teams by an average of 20 points. Not quite sure what the night time has to do with it, but teams just can't even get close to them on Sunday or Monday nights.

lol Mick indeed....

As if to make things worse, Gronk's hurt, which really fucks things up. I'm especially pissed off that he would have had a favorable match up against Miami, but looks like I have to rely on Witten, again. Andre Brown did fuck all this week, and will do fuck all next week against Seattle. The stars are lining up, only it seems to be in this case a great big middle finger.

Edit: Oh yeah, I forgot Reggie Bush getting hurt FIFTEEN FUCKING MINUTES BEFORE KICKOFF <_< . The one thing that went in my favor this week was seeing the weather for Detroit/Philly, leading me to dumping Stafford in favor of Flacco.

Also, as nobody has mentioned it. That last play in the Steelers game was mental. It was like bad rugby.

Any other week that would've been a main highlight. With all of the craziness of the 1:00 games, no one cared about it. Absolutely insane series of events in a bunch of those games.

How long until Shanahan & co. are out in Washington? Do they finish the season?
