The Barclays Premier League thread 2015/2016

I'll miss Brendan. I hope he goes on to do some great stuff somewhere else. There were always people who didn't like him but the 2013/14 run in was one of the most fun times to be a Liverpool fan in a long time. In many ways, it was his undoing as well. I suppose.

After Stoke was the time to do this. Not after a boring draw at Everton.

It seems decisive now but it only really highlights what a fudge it was in the summer to allow him to stay on and spend another £100m or so on players the new manager could now turn around and want nothing to do with. If you have enough faith to stick with him after last season's shambles then you have to give him more than 8 games, regardless of how they go. If you don't then you sack him in the summer and have a clean start with someone else, you don't change the backroom staff but keep the manager in place knowing that only a stunning start to the season will be enough to keep him in the job beyond a couple of months.

Bookies really will offer odds on anything won't they? Seen odds for Darren Ferguson, Alan Hansen and Steven Gerrard for Liverpool's next manager.

That's shocking.

Darren Ferguson? He's favourite for the Donny job!

On which note, have Sean O'Driscoll and Gary Mac left Liverpool too or are they staying for now?

Probably totally depends on who comes in. If anything, Gary Mac is more likely to keep a job due to being a coach compared to O'Driscoll who is the current assistant manager.

They're still at the club for the time being but presumably the new manager will bring in his own staff. I can see Pep Lijnders staying given he's in a more specialist role though.

Absolutely baffling decision. Should have gotten rid of Rodgers in the summer if the plan was to only give him 8 games this season.

Also Mark Hughes is now the second longest serving manager in the league.

The timing though only make me think/hope they've definitely got their man sealed to come in. If Pool aren't getting Klopp, Carlo, or someone else they might covet like De Boer, then this decision becomes even more baffling.

Wrong. That would be Eddie Howe.
