Matthew Centrowitz!  First gold for the US in the 1500 M since 1908.

Caster Semenya was up near the front during the whole 800 M pretty much jogging, then turned on the jets in the final straightaway and won in a landslide.

Good for her.  I think the complaints that she shouldn't be allowed to run are bullshit.

Was it a 3.2km run altogether? Our theory was that that's based on the average length of a wealthy landowner's estate, at which point they pull out the gun to shoot an intruder.
