Adam Schefter last week:  calls for the NFL Draft to be expanded to a week-long, one round per night event since there aren't any other sports going on
Adam Schefter this week:  does an about face and criticizes NFL for holding the draft when there is "carnage in the streets"

Come on.  Fuck Roger Goodell of course but I don't see how the NFL are in the wrong here.  The draft is going to be pretty much remote with teams' war rooms likely be running through Skype or Zoom like every other company that's working from home.  Much like Dynamite gives wrestling fans a nice distraction, the Draft does the same for football fans.  We supposed to drop what little diversions we have so we can reflect on the depressing news cycle 24/7?

No surprise because Schefter is just a massive shill who'll push any narrative that fits his own benefit.

I'm excited for the draft. The entire world is working from home and the Draft is just a big conference call really. There's no reason for it to not happen and it gives sports fans a bit of respite to take their minds off things. Microsoft Surface Pro are a massive sponsor of the NFL, this is a good business opportunity too.

The state of Florida has levied three formal charges against Antonio Brown for an alleged January assault that resulted in the former All-Pro wide receiver's arrest.

Brown faces felony burglary conveyance, misdemeanor battery and misdemeanor criminal mischief charges, according to a Broward County court document obtained by ESPN.

Brown turned himself in on Jan. 23 after a delivery truck driver alleged Brown and his trainer assaulted him outside of Brown's South Florida home two days earlier. The driver was attempting to deliver Brown's household items from California, according to a criminal complaint.

Brown was then charged with felony burglary with battery, which isn't included in the state filing from March 20.

The misdemeanor battery charge, however, states that Brown was "actually and intentionally striking" the driver against his will. The criminal mischief charge states that Brown maliciously injured the driver's property of $200 or less.

If the coronavirus pandemic shuts down criminal proceedings, the state can provide discovery, witnesses and documents to Brown's defense, which can take its own depositions and provide its own witnesses.

It's possible the state will offer Brown the chance to negotiate a plea deal.

The latest charges will likely be reviewed by the NFL, which opened an investigation of Brown in the fall after his former trainer Britney Taylor accused him of rape and sexual assault in a civil lawsuit. Brown has since filed a countersuit. Brown, who missed all but one game last season, has interest in continuing his football career but will undoubtedly face discipline from the league.
