Man we're gonna have a first round pick AND all that sweet, sweet cap space next offseason!?*

Now I just need to make it through this upcoming season.

Assumption is made ignoring the highly likely resigning of Andrea Bargnani to a 20 million dollar per season extension. Damn you, Knicks!

LeBron's agent has informed the Heat that he is opting out of his deal.

If he wants some more rings, I reckon San Antonio could do with a new sixth man.

Sacramento is working on a deal to save the Pistons from the horrific Josh Smith contract by taking Josh Smith all Detroit's hands for next-to-nothing. Allegedly the deal includes Derrick Williams' potential (still a valued trade chip) and Jason Thompson since obviously Smith will play the 4. This is also done since Rondo and Smith are good buds and are rumored to want to play together. But everyone, let's sit back and look at this potential starting 5.

Rajon Rondo

Ben McLemore

Rudy Gay

Josh Smith

Boogie Cousins

We will call them Brick City.

Josh Smith wouldn't be a terrible acquisition for Sacramento if they play him as a 4, but they're so loaded with Forwards already AND the last thing they need is another player who has no shooting range. D'Alessandro is just finishing up year one as GM as is the new owner so they might be looking to make a big splash to sell tickets.

Wouldn't Williams and Thompson moving to Detroit clear a bit of that PF logjam though? In some ways Smith might be a better fit with Drummond due to his athleticism, but Monroe is younger and could still be getting better. The other concern is that Monroe's natural position is center, but it'd be hard to let go of a skilled, young big man.

Mark Cuban and Phil Jackson have enjoyed exchanging verbal barbs through the media as Western Conference rivals over the years. Who would have figured the two would come together to consummate Jackson’s first major move as president of the New York Knicks?

ESPN.com’s Marc Stein was first to report that the Knicks will send center Tyson Chandler and point guard Raymond Felton to the Dallas Mavericks in exchange for point guard Jose Calderon, center Samuel Dalembert, reserve shooting guard Wayne Ellington and 2013 first-round draft pick, speedy point guardShane Larkin.

Chandler's back in Dallas. Good news for them, even if it's short term.
