Happy with the Brockers trade (pending hearing what we gave up). We also signed Jamaal Williams. Really like that pick-up and make our RB corps really solid.

HOUSTON -- After Houston attorney Tony Buzbee said in an Instagram post Tuesday night that he has filed a lawsuit against Deshaun Watson, the Texans' quarterback put out a statement saying he looks forward to clearing his name.

Watson responded on Twitter to word of the suit, saying he rejected "a baseless six-figure settlement demand," and that this is "about clearing my name, and I look forward to doing that."

Buzbee did not specify the allegations against Watson in his post but referenced behavior with women and later told FOX 26 in Houston that "Watson went too far" with a woman who was giving him a massage.

"I have never treated any woman with anything other than the utmost respect," Watson said in his statement.

Buzbee is well-known throughout the Houston area for his law firm and unsuccessful 2019 campaign against Mayor Sylvester Turner.

Williams will be a nice pick-up for somebody.

Wow, now Houston has to trade him.

...Right?

Houston should trade him, but not for this reason.

On another board I'm on, a couple Houston people there said this lawyer's some guy who loves attention and has a Trump-esque attitude towards things.  He ran for mayor of Houston a couple years ago and lost.  He also is connected with the McNair's, so smear job seems in play here.

From what I read, LA tried to work out a restructure but couldn't. Rather than cutting him they found a familiar trade partner with us instead. Then it said the return for the Rams would be small. I guess.

Tbh, sounds good to me. Instant upgrade for our none-existant D-line.

Its a small sample size but his first two years in the league (so two years without Donald) he had pretty similar stats (in fact his most effective year just on QB hits and sacks was the year before Donald was drafted) prior to lining up with Donald. I mean, we have nobody near the talent of Donald on that dline but Brockers is an upgrade over what we trotted out last year (Danny Shelton anybody?).

Actually though....our Dline suddenly doesn't look awful though. Flowers, Okwara, Brockers, and Hand (if he can stay healthy for once) isn't a terrible line. Then you hope the younger Okwara can make some strides along with a hopefully healthy Austin Bryant (he looked decent toward the end of the year). Not world beaters but competent.

Be curious to see how many of our "bad" players were victims of terribke coaching and scheming.

@DFF

Report is we traded a 2023 7th rounder for Brockers.

lol nice.

Absolute steal, even if we can't renegotiate his deal after this year and he leaves.

Yep, and my understanding is we can cut him next year with no impact to our cap. So if he doesn't work out, we're not really losing out on anything.

Looks like the Cardinals have beaten the Pats to the signing of AJ Green.

I'd rather we went for a top TE (missed out now) but Green is a decent choice to add to Kyler's targets and as a WR2 he won't be expected to be as productive as he was in his prime anyway.
