How many times have we been here? Way too many to simply hand him a one-year extension. He’s pushing 29/30 now and he’s still utterly incapable of controlling himself on the pitch. It’s the same old story, we go a goal or two down and he can’t help but start being a prick and do something daft. 

He’s a complete liability, time and time again.

We would have done very well to match our 8th placed finish again this season. 

Our lowest possession in a game since 2003 has been 31%.

We really do have the right core of younger players in the squad - it’s just that the experience around them is all wrong.

Aubameyang is the captain and he’s one of those fair weather players. Xhaka is simply pathetic with his attitude problems when we are losing games. They’re supposed to be our two leaders on the pitch and are anything but. 

The only positive I will take out of that game is Emile Smith Rowe’s performance again. He really tried, even toward the end he would pick up the ball and run at City’s defence and try and make something happened but was outnumbered constantly. 

Not even angry anymore, it’s just tragic. We concede early in these games and don’t put up any sort of fight. The young players need experience around them that will rally the troops but they don’t get that.
