Ronaldo is at the level of fame where his PR people, his club's PR people, his sponsor's PR people, and his sport's PR people all want to sweep it under the rug. I think it's a fair defense to say you don't know because there's incredible efforts from all angles to make sure you don't know.

And that's why he's been able to get by without any consequences. Meanwhile Benjamin Mendy will likely never play a game of professional football again. So we'll have that story to make us believe that FIFA and all the way down do care. It'll be talked about, proper discipline will be handed out, and then all parties involved in issuing punishments will talk about how seriously they take this issues. Which helps with the above attempts to not make Ronaldo's allegations common knowledge.

Sky Sports were literally hiding replies to Ronaldo tweets that referenced it. It's all very strange.

Looks like a broken leg for Elliott :(

Don't think that was a red card offence tbh just felt like it was more bad luck and twisted then anything

Hopefully it is better than it sounds

It's not :(

The only grim consolation is that judging by how floppy his leg was, it was a clean break, so should have an easier time healing. The kind of thing that derails a career for an 18 year old though.

There was some suggestion it might be a dislocation rather than a break. Not sure if that is or isn't better, but that's what is being mused.

Lets not tar all the Leeds fans it's just a section of nobheads being nobheads.

Any one singing the victims chant needs to get in the bin though and you can argue it's not to do with Hillsborough but it clearly is. Bad Tory behaviour

I just find it mad how as a fan you'd be buzzing that a player (a kid at that) got a serious injury

The vast majority looking at the tv pictures.

Literally no one apart from that one reporter heard any Hillsborough chanting; it was probably 2 pissed up cunts that happened to be stood near the reporter.

Harvey Elliot's also come out and said he didn't think it was a red.

His public handling of all of this is starting to make me think he might be maturing a bit, which is definitely a good sign for his future and his ceiling within the game. As long as there's no serious ligament damage, you wouldn't expect him to be out for too long, right?
