Football Manager 2014

Bizarre Blackburn result aside, I'm doing alright so far using a 4-5-1/4-3-3 as Liverpool. Beat Cardiff and Man Utd at home by two-goal margins and won all my friendlies away from home, including a tricky tie against Porto. I mean, Chelsea smashed me when I played them at the bridge, but I won't lose too much sleep over that. I haven't been able to get to properly get to grips with the tactics since 2011, so the lack of sliders is better for me. Loving the new Half-Back role at DM too, gets Lucas properly slotting between the two centre backs so the full backs can push on, Busquets style.

So seeing as people have played this now, would any of you personally recommend it and why? Last picked up '12, and after it possessed my life for six months and I almost failed my first year of uni, I'm wary about picking it up again unless it's just as awesome.

It's a fun game, but wait until they have patched the game some more. Defenders are non-factors and either stand around with their dick in their hands, or ''close down'' on attackers by running past them and giving them an open hole.

Also, the AI is ridiculously effective from set pieces it isn't even funny.

Bullshit. Not a single person scored from a freekick throughout my entire season.

Although that was on the 14.1.1 (or whatever) beta version. I managed to just reach the end of the season before being forced to update to 14.1.3, so come August I may be in for a nasty surprise.
