Wasn't McNabb pretty great though? I'm not a stats nerd unless it's Baseball but he seemed like a big deal

McNabb was really good and might be borderline. Football HOF has an incredibly long list of definite locks who can't get in because they limit the class sizes every year. McNabb isn't in that definite locks category though, hence why it's going to take him a long time to ever get in.

As an Eagles fan, McNabb was pretty good.  He could have some flashes of greatness, but he'd follow it up with a terrible game.  He got known for being a dual threat QB, but then tried to be a strictly pocket passer and that wasn't his strength.

Viewed strictly as an Eagles QB, he's one of the GOATs.  As a HoF candidate?  Maybe in an otherwise weak QB class, definitely not first ballot

The QB choices for the HoF aren't exactly exciting choices. Boomer, Garcia and Dave Krieg? Jesus.

Oh you mean Donovan "wormburner" McNabb? Lol as a bitter Vikings fan watching him play skipping stones with his passes

He was very good with the Eagles but wasn't a worldbeater by any means.

A big thing McNabb will have working against him in hindsight is that there basically hasn't been a bad Andy Reid QB. I don't think it should matter but for a lot of people it does. Anyone who plays under Reid seems to wind up having their best years with him.

McNabb isn't getting into the HOF. He was a good QB for awhile but that doesn't make him HOF caliber.
